Ohmonstre is a French beatmaker/DJ influenced by the underground scene and musical trends such as Boom bap, City Jazz or LofI. He reached out to me to design the covers of his singles.

Encore

It is under a warm sunset of 90s California that the music Encore builds its atmosphere. The sample of the saxophone resonates in a subdued urban ambiance, with deep bass drums.

My creative thought for this single cover was to transcribe the jazz and twilight atmosphere of the music, strongly influenced by the movie Lethal Weapon.

The design is an ode to the American West Coast and draws inspiration from the video game universe Policenauts and the works of the artist Hiroshi Nagai.

Prince
de la Ville

The title is a tribute to the album “Les Princes de la Ville” released in 1999 by the French hip-hop group 113. It is considered one of the greatest albums of French rap.

The artwork captures the nocturnal spirit of the Parisian suburbs that you can see when you look through the windows of the subway. The foggy lights of the city passing in front of our eyes and the silhouette of the buildings that take shape as we go along.

OG

“OG” is a tribute to the golden era of West Coast vibes—smooth synths, deep basslines, and that laid-back groove that defined G-Funk.

From the beginning, we agreed with Ohmonstre that the concept for the cover art should be anchored in the early '90s, drawing heavily from the G-funk era and the iconic work of pioneers like Dr. Dre and DJ Quik.

To capture that spirit visually, I assembled a layered collage from original film photographs of Los Angeles, translating his vision into a bold, nostalgic aesthetic.
